Find out about the NHNAI project results: education, health and democracy at the time of AI and neurosciences

The NHNAI project entitled “New Humanism at the Time of Neurosciences and Artificial Intelligence“, which is coordinated by the Catholic University of Lyon (France) under the aegis of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU), has brought together a global network of academic partners and societal communities across nine countries, aiming to foster ethical capacity-building through collective reflection on humanism in the era of neurosciences and AI.

In its first operational cycle (2022-2024), NHNAI has facilitated interdisciplinary dialogues among academic experts and transdisciplinary engagements with societal stakeholders. These efforts have culminated in the development of comprehensive syntheses that address the complex ethical, philosophical, and societal challenges posed by advancements in AI and neurosciences. The project emphasizes the importance of integrating diverse perspectives to navigate the nuanced tensions between technological innovation and human values.

The global syntheses produced by NHNAI serve as foundational resources for policymakers, educators, and researchers. They offer insights into maintaining human-centric approaches in technology development, ensuring that ethical considerations remain at the forefront of AI and neuroscience applications. By promoting an integral approach to humanism, NHNAI contributes to the emergence of a critical mass of individuals and organizations dedicated to framing these technological challenges through a humanistic lens.
